The term plastic motor comes from the various Alloy parts on the Holden V8, manifold timing cover water pump etc. Back in the day for Chev guys that was kinda freak and "plastic". But yes they are _very_ strong, I haven't seen one break yet after filming at least 200 burnouts of cars with Holden V8's in them. I think I've seen every other motor fail at least once. The RB30 is often quoted as being strong but it will often fail in a burnout comp as will Windosor V8's. Both the Holden and Ford 6 are pretty strong (better than a RB at this kind of torture)
