Not sure, because as long as there’s a bunch of total f-witts running the NSW RTA, they’ll always find some BS reason to justify “ongoing” research. Just like cutting the speed limit on the Newell back to 100. This was supposes to save X number of lives, but when there’s no change in the road toll, or if it increases, they’ll all be back slapping each other because they prevented it from being higher, or so they’ll say. So it doesn’t matter what happens with the road toll, up, down or the same, they’ll clam it as a win.
If you listen to the government spin doctors, they’d say that no one has ever been killed on the roads obeying the speed limit, bah.
As long as state governments find an easy source of revenue in enforcing speed limits, we will never be able to get rid of garbage like this. Let’s face it, NSW and QLD are broke, so it will only get worse. Remember, speed kills, or so they say and they want to protect us from ourselves so they’re actually doing us a favour, not.
Look at the deaths from cancer, 12,000 each year then compare that to the road toll. I wish they put as much effort into preventing cancer.
