As long as state governments find an easy source of revenue in enforcing speed limits, we will never be able to get rid of garbage like this. Let’s face it, NSW and QLD are broke, so it will only get worse. Remember, speed kills, or so they say and they want to protect us from ourselves so they’re actually doing us a favour, not.
Look at the deaths from cancer, 12,000 each year then compare that to the road toll. I wish they put as much effort into preventing cancer.

Well if they are not doing "important studies" resulting in "groundbreaking conclusions" then they might have to go out and get a job in the real world......
Standard methodology to force an agenda:
1) Hire idiot academics to find evidence to back your agenda.
2) Hire more idiot academics to contradict them but make absolute fools of themselves publicly then back down and apologise.
3) Implement agenda using the above studies to immediately debunk anyone who questions it with "We have already studied that".
The difference between public service & academia AND the real world:
If you completely stuff up in the real world you get sacked and possibly face civil or criminal prosecution whereas public servants get transferred to a different department usually with a promotion and (provided their stuffup is in line with agenda) academics get further grants to stuff other things up.
