After lots of reasearch this past month, i bought a 5ft antenna, grounded my antenna mount well and checked the system with an inline SWR meter so its running mint.
On the weekend ive been able to pickup blokes near Sydney and some guy in south east asia. Clearly too. UHF does not even compare!
