Default Re: Not so funny cars - John Force and Jonnie Lindberg Tangle

Yeah, that was bad, then got worse when the chutes got tangled up.

Force went to hospital for observation. He is getting up there. He's a good guy. I used to see him every year at Maple Grove Raceway Park.

One year after our car made it's run, I headed back up the staging lanes to get to the trailer so we could getthe car turned around for the next run. There's John Force standing there by himself and his car mid way up the staging lanes. He call me over out of the blue and says "hey buddy, how's your car running?" Then asks some specific questions about the car and we talk for a few minutes before I had to get back to the trailer.

Didn't see him for the rest of the weekend. Then the next year, the same thing happened. How he remembered me, I'll never know. same thing happened the next few years until we got into 10 1/2" tyre and Drag Radial "street oulaws".

Friday nights after qualifying, he'd buy you a beer if he saw you.

I loved that track. Best food on the circuit.
