Actually the best engineers started off as apprentices in my experience.
Some tradies view engineers as no-practical-idea numpties, and some engineers view tradies as knuckle-dragging Neanderthals who take forever to get it, and although there’s a grain of truth in those attitudes sometimes mutual respect generally wins out.
