But honestly, we live regionally. Port Lincoln is <700kms west of Adelaide, we drive along highways where the risk of cleaning up rabbits, foxes or roos happens 10mins from home, plus we drive dirt roads a lot in summer at national parks or visiting beaches. The current hilux's 2nd front bar without a bullbar is looking a little worse for wear, and as a family with dogs who travel racks/cage/bullbar are a near necessity. You havent seen my wife pack for a weekend for herself and 2 kids, so capacity to carry luggage anywhere outside the cabin is also ideal.
Although fuel consumption is definitley a consideration, for 75% of the time the wifes car is travelling in town. I also drive an F6x, so to me good fuel consumption is anything 15lt and under
