I mean, FFS, yes, you have an XR6, that just means there are slight differences in trim, etc, you dont magically have a whole different car with different panelwork, etc to a standard Falcon.
Or, yeah, you've got an RTV, guess what buddy, you've got a standard Falcon ute with a factory lift kit, why the **** is something as unimportant as a headlight bulb going to change?
Ford werent dumb enough to make a totally different flavour of things for every different trim spec, they started with ONE bodyshell and bolted whatever was needed to it. Got a BA Force 6? beaut, you've got a turbo'd Fairmont Ghia, got an XT? guess what, you didnt get all the cool shizzle that the Force 6 got, you'll have empty holes, blank panels and more boringg trim & dress up parts, but BOTH cars are based on EXACTLY the same bodyshell!
Got an EF Fairmont Ghia? BFD, nobody cares that it had the Tickford motor, it doesnt make your dipstick any different!

Couldn't have said it better. I mean, a Force 6 or an RTV has high appeal in their own unique ways, but some people get a little blinded by the fact they were all Falcon's.
The one that I always shake my head at is the whole Tickford thing. You know the sort, they will have a basic Fairmont with a sunroof, which means it will have a Tickford option plate fitted to the engine bay. Suddenly, that means it a Tickford not a Ford. No, it's a Fairmont sedan that was sent across the road for a contract manufacturer to install the sunroof on Ford's behalf. Does that also mean you have a Tickford because you have a "factory" dual fuel system fitted to your Forte?
Or the ones who crow on about their 395,000 km Fairmont Ghia having the "special" Tickford engine. No, they all came with that engine, yours is no different. Ford and Tickford only put that engine in the Fairmont/Fairlane to get enough volume to pay off the development cost of the VCT cylinder head.
I could go on, but I've probably offended enough already.
