You know, after thinking about this, you are correct.

The last time, way back in the day, you had an assortment of nails, screws, nuts, bolts and washers (insert) THE BIGGEST SELECTION EVER of any kind of fixing that your heart desired that you could buy one of, 10 of, or a whole box if need be.

Must have been an absolutely total nightmare to audit, control, re-order etc.

Now this makes sense to SOME degree. It still does not explain why I can't purchase imperial threaded nuts and bolts in a pre packaged 10 pack etc.

Hey, guess what? They still exist Mr Bunnings, Mr Mitre 10 etc.
But quantity dictates what they will stock. Where as back in the day, a random 1/4UNC X 3/4 BLACK GRADE 8 HIGH TENSILE HEX BOLT was not a problem.

Now it is how it is, and it's MEGA annoying.
