Yes it should but didn't. Third time lucky, they ended up modifying the bolt on rear main seal "frame" which brought the seal lip closer to the block and off the wear line which worked a treat.
Trader's (Perkins) have high crankcase pressure and why they could easily push oil past dodgy seal fixes, probably why they were still vented to atmosphere right up to the late 90's on these trucks.
