Ford don't necessarily have to apply the ZF A6 across the range as there are other gearboxes available from within

:. Maybe also of interest to some, on the Territory forum it was stated that the over-the-counter spare parts price for the ZF and latest BF A4 are very close approx $7000+. Now, obviously this doesn't mean the cost price is the same for both as I would be staggered if the ZF wasn't at least several hundred dollars more expensive, yet this doesn't guarantee that Ford will make the ZF standard across the whole range. I guess when the supply contract from Ion runs out we should be at the release of Orion and we'll see what eventuates.

Iphido's link it states that the new A6 from the "old" ion is rated at 400nm which is too fine a margin for the Falcon I6 (and who knows where Orion's I6 output might be) so I'd guess Ion won't be supplying this box to Ford for the Falcon.
