Ohhhh, poor AU and its owner. The whole area looks like it was bombed. Heavy things can be scary.

Yeah haha I can just imagine the call out after it happened... "It's O.K.! It was only a series one! Who's hungry?"

I wouldn't be parking on that street for a while, who knows which building is going to fall down next.

Here is a news article on it:
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2...17/2140837.htm

Quote:
A car has been flattened during demolition work on the Cameron Offices at Belconnen in Canberra's north-west.

Witnesses say the wall fell on to the car just after 2:00pm AEDT.

No one was injured.

The incident provided some lunchtime entertainment for public servants working in the area.

"It had been hanging for about two hours and the guys had been trying to knock it down and then all of a sudden it collapsed on the car and smoke went everywhere," a witness said.

The complex was designed in the 1960s by the Australian architect John Andrews and won worldwide acclaim through a listing on the Union of International Architects Heritage register.

Demolition work began late last year despite concern about the building's heritage value.

'Not safe'

The construction union says it has been obvious for two weeks the demolition of the building was not safe.

Sarah Schoonwater from the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) says she pointed out the problem to WorkCover a fortnight ago.

She says so far there has been no response, even after today's accident.

"We've tried to contact WorkCover today and it appears nearly everybody's on leave," she said.

The ACT Government says an investigation has begun.

Ditto, and they think the falcon ute can carry some weight. That sedan is doing a pretty good job of staying upright under all that
