We have numerous problems with our AU XR6, the latest is a clutch shudder.
There is also a problem the ABS light coming on intermitently, since the air conditioning compressor pooped itself. I was told there is somewhere on this site that listed problems other people had come across with this model, and how to fix them? Is that right? I can't find it! I want my husband to get rid of this car, I think it's had it but he reckons as it only has 160,000km on it, that he should hang on to it and that the mechanics working on it are to blame for the problems! Help!! |

Thanks for your reply, I didn't find the site hugely helpful. A bit like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I've been sitting at the computer for the last 2.5 hours looking for info to no avail. I obviously need to get a life.

Can anyone suggest a good mechanic in the Parramatta area, that won't rip us off and actually knows what they are doing? Is there such a mechanic that specialises in Fords?
We have taken our 1998 AU XR6 to Ford to be serviced and it is never fixed and usually comes back with an additional problem! My theory is "Ford pays peanuts and gets monkeys" My husband has given up trying to have it fixed and reckons he is going to fix it himself, which he doesn't obviously. Help!! |
