just wondering when ppl say its a low dial mk2 gt cortina dash wat do they mean buy the low dial part.thanks

i think it refers to the position on the dash board for the guage pod. i think the low dial refers to the guages being in the dash facia and hi dial refers to the guages being mounted on top of the dash board.

1967/68 GT Cortinas had the 4 small guages mounted on top of the dash, the dask is the same as a 440 except a hump was moulded into it in the middle to house the guages. 1969/70/71 GT Cortinas had the guages mounted in the same position but lower in the dash as RSgerry wrote this dash is one of the most costly to get recovered. Also when people are makeing or fakeing a GT they use the first type as it bolts straight into a 440/240/220 Cortina, where as the later type need the whole skeleton removed and a later GT skeleton welded in to be done properly. I have only ever seen 4 replicas done this way. One was a replica 2 door English GT in our club. I have wrecked about 20 GT's over the years and I allways cut the skeleton out.
