Default Au ghia leather seats

bought a AU 1 Ghia. the leather on the drivers is worn as u would expect. the guy thats going to retrim my seats suggested that i try and get a skin for the seat from ford that way the leather will be a closer match.

has anyone done this before? just thought i would try before i ring them and spend 20 mins on hold.
if not anyone know where i can get the leather that will go close to matching the factory. obviously i dont expect it to be the same but i would like it to be at least close.

I'm thinking that ford will no longer stock the seat trim for her as , I'm aware they don't even do the cloth trim.

I'm going to ford tomorrow to pick a few things up so i'll ask them the question and let you know tomorrow.

Regards, Woody

i had the drivers side in my car retrimmed when i first bought my car. i didn't get it done myself, it was part of the deal when i bought it from the dealer. they said it cost around $300 to get it done and the leather is a good match. can hardly tell other than my seat pretty much looking brand new and the passenger side slightly worn. i dont know where they got it from tho, sorry. call up some upholstery joints, they should be able to help u out.

all the factory leather covers are all leather on faces and vinyl on borders....some trimmers like my old work may not keep any scrap to suit, and save paying 400-700 a hide that maybe wont be perfect match colour wise.....we just use to persuade the customer into getting vinyl panel....hell of a lot cheaper, in most cases perfect match....when its in u prob wont even tell the diff....even sometimes we couldnt tell, except if only one panel is to be replaced the others look grainy or worn alot more

hope this helps

we had a couple of patches repaired in our AUII ghia not long ago for $80- and the match is perfect,as there is a few textures in the rear seats so there was a few to choose from to match.

TQ motor trimming
at campbelltown nsw,Unreal bloke Micheal very good work.
