Ok so i noticed i was dripping coolant a week ago, only a drop here and a drop there, so i went over all the Tubes and tightend everything up and then.. a day later it got worse.. was driving to work and my coolant light came on so i put some coolant in on my way home from work (had spare in the boot for some bazzar reason) and now i drive to work and back and when i get home im back to having the coolant light on
i stoped off at my local Radiator specialest on my way home from work today and he told me i had a hole in the top right (Passanger side) of my radiator he said its a common problem in the origional Ford Radiators, and quoted me $285 for a new radiator fitted.. some metallic core or somethingZ the part is $220 and labour $65 is that a good price or should i go else where ? i can actually see the crack/burnt part of the radiator so i know he wasnt b-s me thanks Brad` |

Your probably not going to get it much cheaper than that unless you do the work yourself.

If its a copper or brass core its prob a reas. price however they do sell on flea bay for around 170, see here-:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RADIATOR-FORD...QQcmdZViewItem Don't go the alloy again, he is right it is common. Also, making sure the car has good earthing helps with corrosion issues.

Its your money.... but i'll just add my advise here... Unless its an ADRAD unit, it will not last...
That price screams to me that its an imported unit... and thus, ADRAD is Australian... there are plenty of threads on here that agree with me on thier quality over all others.

You are probably going to look at around $250-ish for an ADRAD unit ... I can highly recommend them ... had a twin core in the old AU ... worked a treat under load on the really hot days.

dude get the radiator but put it in yourself its easy as 20 min - 30 min if i remember it was a while ago when i changed mine.
Theres like 4 bolts or something and the thermos come straight off. Undo all the auto coolant lines & radiator hoses. and i think the bottom plastic under the front nose also has to come off and done!! Change it over and put it all back together P.S get new hose clamps throw the ford ones out. |

Also need to do the transmission lines well into the radiator.

thats easy just make sure the fittings are clean before you screw them in or they wont seal. even a small piece of dirt can cause them not to seal.

i was going to do it my self then i thought.. $220 for the part.. 20 for coolant $5 or 10 for new clamps.. = $260ish
for an extra 20 why bother least if it stuffs up he can fix it oh the radiator place only sells RAMAD radiators 2 so its a bonus thanks brad` |
