A young man wrecked a Ferrari worth a quarter of a million dollars, but escaped serious injury, when he crashed into a stobie pole at Walkerville (Adelaide) today.

On the upside, the spare parts market for Ferrari 360 Modena's just got a little better.

This guys kind'ov a mate of mine. Used to hang out alot, now not so much. Families seriously cashed up (new lambo, both sons and daughter got new cars as prezzie's when finished yr 12.), they just bought the Ferrari acouple of weeks back too. Reason they had it out was because it just got back from the mechanics so they wanted to "wear it in" ... Will be seein his sister tonight... This is gonna be sooo fun ( "nice ferrariii.... ooooooh sorry yeah i forgot")

The resident heard it zinging past. The journalist interpreted that as the car was senn zinging past. On the rev limiter maybe? From the looks of it I'd say he just wnted to share the car with his mate..........by giving him half

Zinging is the same action done in a much more expencive/exclusive car like a ferrari, lambo etc. The can and sometimes do impound hoons cars and take away hoons drivers license. They never impound "zinging" cars. Heck most times the drivers of "zinging" cars (Zingers?) don't even get a ticket. case a few years ago when young P-plater was clocked at ~200km/hr in daddy's high end bimmer and got off scott free. ** **(Anton Faber-Castell, all of 17 years old and newly licensed, drove his father's BMW 740i on Sydney's 100kph speed limited F3 freeway at an astonishing 200kph and was clocked twice at that speed by police radar. He only held a probationary driving licence, which meant that he was not permitted to drive over 90kph at any time. Normally probationary drivers automatically lose their licences if they are caught driving at any speed over the posted limit. The maximum penalty for driving at such an excessive speed as 200kph is a $2200 fine, nine months in jail and licence disqualification for three years. However Faber-Castell's penalty was even more astonishing. He was given a 12 month good behaviour bond, his conviction was not recorded and he was ordered to pay $56 in court costs and incredibly, the magistrate even allowed him to keep his licence. ) |

Bingo, sought of. I don't reckon this blokes Dad deserved to see his Fazza smashed like that, but the son, well whats the worst that will come of him? Dad spews for the next 2 years, he loses his licence (maybe) for a few months. Big deal. Then when he gets his ticket back, well lets see, will I jump in the GT, or will I hit the old man up to bring forward my 21st B day pressie..?

Wow, that sure is an unfortunate end for such a nice car.
Aren't new Ferrari models usually sold out before they even hit the tarmac? (with a couple of years wait thrown in) Tuff luck getting another new one. If I was cashed up I'd be buying my kids nice new cars too. If you worked for it and you want to spoil your family, I say go for it. If I ever come into some decent money, first thing I'd be doing would be getting my immediate family out of any debt they had, and if they wanted a new car and I was good for it, no problem. Would I then buy my hypothetical son a GT for his 21st if I thought he was responsible? Yep, sure would. |

/I wonder where I put that spare front cut...
Sofa-king lucky they survived that. The weird thing is, with these exotics, the foot well isn't very generous and in most cases the legs are pointing in towards the middle of the car. "Driving a Ferrari doesn't mean you're a Ferrari driver" |

Seems you take a big chance being on the road in Adelaide.
We do not need farkwits like this on our roads. Hope the cops throw the book at the idiot! And his father for letting an irresponsible goose behind the wheel of such a powerful car. Just yesterday a pair of crims robbed a couple of pubs, then got involved in a police chase. Speeds were too high for the cops - they called off the chase. Then the idiot criminals slammed into 6 cars at an intersection - causing many injuries. Everyday we hear of police chases where these ar...hole criminals put innocent lives at risk. Don`t drive around Adelaide if you value your life. Rocket. |
