Default XR8 clutch

Hey guys,
Picked up my XR8 on the weekend (yippie!! Will post pics soon). Anyways mu clutch is real heavy and feels a little sticky, cable that is, its just not as smooth as I would like. No sign of cracked firewall. Any idea's of where to start? Was thinking maybe a new cable? Apart from the clutch and noisey purge valve I'm real happy with the car

Cheers
Jay

remove cable hang it on washing line and spray crc into the top every hour for a day until it starts running out the bottom

also what sort of clutch is in it, ny xr6 clutch was stupidly heavy as i had a 4000lb pressure plate with cable actuation.

How many km's on it?

When I got mine it was binding, so much so that the pedal box was shifting so a new clutch cable was installed. That made it a little better, but still not great. So I dropped the gearbox out and cleaned up the nose cone and lubricated with some copper grease and now it's all good.

As said standard XR clutchs are quite heavy and pretty average quality. I had mine replaced with an Exedy Sports Tuff heavy duty and found it lighter and a lot better to use
