i'm not real familiar with series 1...but looks good to me - but i think those style wheels only work when huge: like 19's or 20's...those rims look bad

S1 rear bar, S2/3 Tailights, S1/2 side markers and S2/3 Boot garnish. I'd say you are right without looking at the interior or front end.

EDIT: Also S2/3 wing

It's a Tickford rear bar. The car hasn't got the matching skirts.

Series II I'm guessing.

Yep, Series II by the look of it - but it has what looks like an aftermarket rear bar - it isn't Series I rear bar but looks similar.

Easy enough to check whether it's genuine or not.

It looks a bit dodgy though with the mismatched body bits.

Plenty of cars on here have mis-matched parts or parts from another series. This car is an XR. Who knows why it's got an S1 rear bar, but it could have had a minor accident. I've seen BAs with AU doors and door moulds.

AU2 XRs and Futuras didn't have coloured mirrors when new, however the S3 did. There are a few out there that are colour coded though, just as BA XTs didn't but there are a couple out there that do - either owners got them colour coded or a few left the factory that way.

You're most likely correct - I must say I hadn't noticed this "styled" section on the underside of a Series One bar before but maybe because I haven't seen a white one which shows it up a lot more than a darker colour.

Vicroads says:

Vehicle Registration: Not registered in Victoria
VIN/Chassis Number: 6FPAAAJGSW1M42941
Engine Number: JGSW1M42941
Vehicle Make: FORD
Vehicle Colour: WHITE
Body Type: CAR/SEDAN
Year of Manufacture: 2001

So it's definitely not a S1.

Cheers, Anthony

I will bet it is a series 2 Futura.
Chrome strips in the body molds are not XR, am I right?

Alot of people put there on afterwards.

Car is definately an XR. May have had a hit up the back and when it was repaired they found a S1 bar to replace it with. S2 rear bars had the cut out for the towbar.

Isn't that a feature of the AU manuals?

on further inspection i'm gonna say this is an AUII XR6 that's had a hit in the rear and an extremely dodgy fixup job.
