Hi all my brother is buying a AU 5litre V8 Fairlane and wanted to check the engine number against the rego papers, can someone guide me to where the engine number is under the bonnet??

There should be a flat area in the back of the motor near the bell housing with a number punched in it. that will be it. cheers

Rear passanger side just below head but still on the side of the motor. Might need to clean it up a little and use a torch...
