Big job to do at all. Huge and expensive job to do legally ( engineers certificate)

im probs way off the mark but i thought it would be a matter of swaping seat rails? They seem reasonably similar but Thats by eye and then again i might have a bungeye lol

au seats are a very different seat. They sit down inside the rails. It can be done by cutting all the unwanted brackets away then welding two metal strips across from one rail to the other as i have done with mine but the problem is the seat sits to high. I have to squeeze my head into the car so i would not recommend it but it can be done.

Its not that big a job - a trimmer can do it, but you do have to be prepared to butcher up a set of AU seats as well as a BA lower seat to put it all on. The bit about the rails not lining up is correct, you can't just 'bolt them in'.

I would still be looking into the legality of it I would still think if the seat design was changed it would need an engineers certificate.
there are many cars insured that are not legal and would have claims denied it the insurance company catches them out
