As the title suggests I have a grinding noise coming from the left hand rear that only occurs now and then when I turn left, but not when I turn right. It sounds really bad and quiet embarrassing at times.
Has anyone had this issue before and could steer me in the right direction to fault find this problem. Any information would be great thanks.

IRS or Live Axle?
Wheel bearing perhaps. Also check your rear brake pads. If they are down to bugger all then the calliper will be very close to the disc and it wouldn't take much lateral movement for the disc to grind on the calliper if the bearing has a little play in it. Bushbasher

It is live axle. I was thinking wheel bearing also.
Anymore ideas?

Could be the handbrake shoes rubbing. Might need to back the handbrake off a tad.
Sounds silly I know, but I've heard mine rubbing on one side when going round corners. Left rear in the wagon it was. GK

Finally got to root cause this issue. It is the LHR hand brake shoe rubbing on the disc. So I will repair that. Also took my axles out to replace the bearings while I was at it. Found out that they were not packed with grease when replaced previously and some genius used silicon on it as well.
Also low diff oil, as when they took the axle out they didn't replace the loss of fluid. Lucky my diff isn't whining.
