Default Yet another climate control problem thread

Good day gentlemen (and ladies perhaps?)

I have an issue with Monty's climate control fan, it won't slow down. I have run the reset, and it still blows hot and cold. I can manually turn it off, but when she's on she's on flat strap - from L to H it's one constant roar. Happened after parking up for an hour or so and it bucketting with rain while we were out.

A quick search has me thinking it's the fan speed controller behind the glovebox, but thought I should consult the oracles first. Any takers?

Yes; the transistor in the fan speed controller will have a corroded casing and needs replacing. See http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11319441

Just to make things interesting, the problem has stopped. Which brings me to two conclusions:

1. Electricity is white man magic

and 2.

If the problem comes back I'll change the controller
