Default HSV VF GTS performance figures.

Hi Guys and Girls,

Was talking to the old man the other day and he was saying how he could not find and performance figures on the current GTS. 0-100km/h and 1/4mile. He had looked on the net and in the buyers guides in most magazines. Does anyone know them and would wish to share?

Thanks in advanced.

Cheers Ryan

Dunno why the Holden boys bothered really....all that technology for so little gain.

Everyone knows that a bog standard XR6T can do a 0-100 in 4.6 with a second gear launch...

True....

Instead of gm bashing, enjoy both cars whilst they are still around.
Bash the japs or VW instead.

It's funny you say this, because I seem to read more FORD bashing on this FORD forum, than I do GM bashing

I disagree.
Whilst there is criticism of Ford, it is expected. A forum centered around Ford vehicles with a large owner base, there are people with good and bad experiences, and with the forum they will become vocal. Ford AU and global have made some terrible decisions but also very good ones.

In all people are still fans of the Ford but I think are more open minded to other makes and models. They may not have a Ford in their driveway right now but that doesn't mean they're not a Ford fan.
Personally I am Ford man, I will drive and own other makes but I am still a Ford man. Unlike many here, I am not a Falcon fanatic, it is just another make in the Ford line up. I judge it like any other product.

I got the joke and I didn’t know that until very recently and I won’t say I’m dubious because I just don’t know but it amazes me how quick they are and yet most people talk of them as a low 5.

Quick or not I’ve no doubt which I’d pick out of the two and it would be all that tech in the Holden over the XR6T any day.

Seriously I don’t have to be the fastest, someone with a tune or some mods is always just corner and you’re done like a dinner anyway or the Cops grab you and take it away just because you're being stupid enough to try and find out.

This is one of the slower runs.

Surely shonky you must yield. This GTS is an absolute beast in all ways.

That being said the Miami powered falcon is a great bit of kit

Search the forum using "GTS" and you will find lots of performance times for 0-100, 1/4, 80-120 and lap times. Youtube has vids too but generally
low to mids 12's for 1/4 and low to mid 4's for 0-100

0-100, in around 26 seconds.

On the back of the tow truck, going to the dealer for another recall.

Even on the back of a tow truck it would probably still be quicker then a GT, corner better and brake better as all the GTs are all in pit lane at the drags with dodgy superchargers and no warranty.........

When the VF GTS was first released it was pillared from post to post on here when Hsv said it would do 0-100 in 4.4secs and go close to running a 11sec qrta. Go figure.

Saw one run down in 12.8 down the qtr manual. Tune.
My mates GT with tune ran 0.55 sec quicker around a race track in tallong vs a GTS best lap for lap.
Safe to say they go hard...however nowhere near as hard or better than our GT's as what the mags make out.

In all seriousness I wouldn't know. But I am sure the figures are in the motoring magazines that quote new car stats in the back.

The I6T is the true jewel in the ford crown. In years to come it will be seen that way. Its midrange punches holes through the Miami V8.

As for VF GTS it will also be the jewel in the crown for holden/HSV, low 12s bog stock and mid 4s 0-100km/h attached to a very very nice car. Whats not to like.

This is silly nuanced cherry picking. What about the fact that the Miami blows the forced barra out the water from 4,500 upwards...

The forced barra is a great engine, as is the Miami. Different engines doing different things.

The forced barra works very well with auto, especially for the straight acceleration guys- that is what I thought driving a worked F6, the auto and torque converter helps with the turbo spool and minimising lag. Also the changes with the auto with torque converter keep spool up.

The Miami works better in manual (as there is no boost spool required and the power is immediate and linear), and is great for the guys who like linear power on corners, as you can feel precisely what power is being fed through the engine/clutch gearbox to get the precise power needed in the corner.

Bit puerile to say one engine is better than the other- that is the beauty with engineering, it can result in very different engineering being very potent in very specific and different applications.

Sometimes I wonder if the people who go to print with comments on these machines, have actually driven and really experienced this great machinery we have on tap (at the moment) for astoundingly cheap money relative to what else is out there.

In the mountains (corners) my money would be on the F6. I'm definitely not in auto mode when feeding the Michelins into and out of corners - usually in 2nd in sports mode and know exactly what the power is doing.

Van Gisbergen has run the F6 autos in a few targa's.....again not in auto mode.

Very little lag on a tuned manual with small turbo. Until humans can physically move their left arm and leg as fast as an automatic can change gears then autos will always be faster regardless of engine type and setup.

Manual is more fun to drive and auto is faster, simple as that.

I drive a stock (apart from KPM intake & fatter rubber) XR6T ute and in the current conditions it is making way more 270kw.
Past 2 mornings have been minus 4 degrees and this turbo just sings!!!
I really can't believe how much harder it is going, I'd love to dyno test it at this temp or put it down the strip, it actually feels as quick as the GTP335 I used to own!
