i got ford mondeo 2013 tdci. when I was proceeding to the traffic light it was not downing the gears. and eventually died on me. I start it up immediately and the transmission limited function came up on the screen. there was no engine light. after that, it wasn't changing gears properly. was no error codes. later that day it start giving up the engine light and the p0700 code was stored. after checking all the grounds and relays it did give me the error code of p068a along with the p0700 code. any suggestions please.

As you've identified P0700 is a Trans control module issue that can be caused by faulty wiring but also by a faulty TCM or an issue with the transmission itself.
The P068a was probably caused when you checked the relays. If you power cycle the PCM normally (start engine, turn off and remove key from ignition) the DTC will probably disappear. If not let us know. Not quite sure where you go for the P0700 - you'll need to actually read what codes are being thrown by the TCM which not all code readers can do.

Hard to know where to go sitting this side of the monitor but don't forget the EGR valve can influence the Limited Trans function. I think the best bet would be to record what happens and hopefully capture the error, or at least what's happening at the time.
Or let ford do the same.

I went to the transmission shop yesterday, he confirms that it is because of the faulty TCM. but what I am thinking is if TCM is bad why it behaves like a normal car for 250 kms after clearing the codes. why the error codes are not popping up straight away.
just remember P068A code was generated before my checking of the relays. I try it by swapping relays. but it was still there. |

I don't know about the Mondeo relays but note the potential interchangeability issue discussed in the above article. |
