I'm wondering if the fairmont door wiring loom would be the same as the ghia? The only difference in electrics as far as I can work out is the extra courtesy lamp.
Knowing my luck they'll be different, and I'll have to find a way to feed some extra wiring through. Also, does anyone know if the fairmont door shell has the cutout for the lamp? With the EF/EL fairmont the cutout is hidden behind the trim so you can just cut the trim with a sharp knife to install it. Looking at Russ' parts list the lower ghia trims with the proper cutout are reasonably cheap... the FRONT ones anyway. TIA for any help! |

Pretty sure that there is no provision for the courtesy lamp in the way of wiring. If you want it there, you'll most likely have to add the wiring in yourself, and its a of a job.
Im unsure of whether the cutout is there, Ive often wondered myself as like you said - the EF/L Monts have it. Ill take the trim off our AUII this afternoon and see what I can find out.

Did you end up having a look at those trims?

I dont suppose you could take off the rear door trim as well, and lift up the foam, and take a photo of the door for me? I need to see the difference between a Falcon & a Fairmont's.
It'd be great if you could b2tf!!
