Ok this morning I went to fill up at Lawson (Blue Mtns NSW) to find it was 126.9cpl. I am shocked and stunned.
This meant my precious Optimax was 135.9cpl. I almost keeled over. WTF is going on? I watched the news recently, they didn't mention THIS much of a hike. *Bindi goes off sulking, hoping soon to get another LPG car...*

The bottomless cash pits driving the new age industrialisation of India and China will meet their supply demands by driving world crude oil prices to a new high.
Analysts suspect 92 ron to be around about the 1.32 mark before the end of the year. |

ah yes the joys of paying $0.35 per litre and the best part is that I get 72 litres of 103 octane fuel for only $25 and it gets me near enough to 500 km every time
I can't believe all the jokers that carry on about losing power on gas... Set Your Car Up Properly and you will make More Power! Cost me roughly $350 to convert my car to straight gas and at a saving of $65 per week [80 litre petrol tank] since mid-april I think there's no cause for complaints, plus I am getting 100+ more km's every tank.

I do feel sorry for my Dad though, paying $1.20 plus a litre for diesel at 600 litres per refill

i drove a Focus Zetec for a week and got 7.4 L/100 and then jumped in a 3 valve V8 Fairlane and could not get below 14.7 L/100
it really made me cry when I put $50 in the Fairlane only to get about 40 litres for my money

Crude oil remains > $66 USD per barrel. Was @ 67.10 on friday!!!!!!!! Incredible.
Looks like AUD holding up OK, at time of this post was trading at US76c... Despite the temptation to nominate china and india as the problem, their growth in demand has backed right off this year. The ridiculous demand always has been and always will be the US. And besides, china and india have just as much right to participate in the oil markets as we do. Nuclear standoff re: iran certainly not helping to ease nerves and a few problems with US refineries at the moment i think. It's not that bad. 30L @ $1.15 = $34.5. 30L @ $1.30 = $39. Not even 5 bucks....

I grant that the US has the highest demand, however US demand appears to have been some what stable over the last few years, unlike the rapid growth of demand from China and India. |

However, we should consider that growth in China's oil demand was around 15% during 2004 - the recent figures put them in line with global demand growth. I believe current oil consumption in China is 3million bpd compared with US consumption at 11 million bpd... estimates say chinese demand will topple the US in around 2030 but frankly i doubt the planet has got another 25 years of oil left in her. Rapid growth always expected in a developing nation... but surely it's their right to do so?? Developed countires like ourselves have had it pretty good so far but now there's another billion mouths to feed from the 81 million barrels a day of global production... surely we cant blame them for taking "our" oil??
