Default Odd looking sump plug....

As some of you may know I've got an AU engine I'll be using the bottom end from. It's out the back at the moment being stripped down for a rebore.

Anyway, Dave (Thanatos) was over when I first got it and he noted the weird looking sump plug, didn't pay much attention at first, until the other day.

Looking at it I see it's got Denso stamped on it, Denso being a Japanese auto part manufacturer for those who don't know. I'm wondering why the hell a Ford has a Denso sump plug. Then it hit me when I had a closer look....

I can't believe someone has done it, bush mechanic to the max. I'll let everyone guess what it is.

Needless to say I'm going to be getting a genuine one!

Ive come accross this at work before, it was on a fairlane taxi (AU) and he said it never leaks and thats why he had changed it! As the au's have the in-built rubber bit/o-ring, But he was stinge and couldnt just buy a new sump plug, but rather stuff the sump! :

Lucky you will only be using the bottom end! It would proberbly run rough otherwise, with the sump plug being used as a spark plug up top, it was bound to be missing on one cylinder.
