I'm not into BB at all, would rather watch paint dry or grass grow though I admit I watched most of the first series because it had novelty value then. |

Oh no, not another one...
There's a chance the show may not return next year, but I wouldn't bet on it. Aslong as the show brings the ratings, they don't care whether people like their show or not. I don't know why people whinge about TV shows. I mean seriously there's more to life then watching TV. |

If it doesn't get the ratings it would get the chop, so obviously someone watches it.
I watched it once a few years ago and personally think it's cr@p.

Hmm i wonder if this thread will eventually be locked. What do you expect channel 7 to say? that big brother is good and you should watch it? i doubt a rival network would do that, and as for if its coming back or not, its not up to channel 7, or anyone else, exept the people that approve / dissapprove of what goes on tv. btw i dont like the news, and im pretty sure thousands of children will agree, does that mean itll go? no, cause its not really directed at children, where as big brother is for a younger audience, so get over it and find something else to do at 7pm weekdays. If anything should go its those stupid shows that spawn other stupid shows like dancing on ice, dancing with the stars, dancing with what ever the ******.

Well said!!!!!!!! : Why do people whinge so damn much?? It is the same as threads in a forum.. people just seem to need something to gripe about to complete their day.. If you don't like watching (or reading) something.. the answer is simple.. Don't do it!!!!!!!!!! I doubt very much that channel 7 would be privileged to any footage that channel 10 don't want anyone to see somehow.. The footage is probably what would have been seen on uncut (if the wowsers didn't have that chopped) or live streaming... Of course there is going to be footage you will not see on tv.. they are filming 24/7 and not everyone stays in the same room all the time.. so there is going to be different stuff that is either not allowed on prime time or not interesting enough... Take your pick on either...

BB is not covering up anything, its just selecting what it wants to show on TV, you see 1/2 hour of footage for a 24hour period and even most of that is just recycled throught out the week.
I think most the time they sit around bored staring at the wall, not a real lot to do in that house if you think about it.

Id like Big Brother off....just to free up a time slot for something I'd LIKE to watch....
Channel 10 know the factors to get people to watch the cwap, but IMHO they've gone a little overboard in their formula this year.... And I hate having to explain to my kids why I wont let them watch it, 7pm or not. I'd like them to grow up thinking that sort of behaviour isnt normal just 'coz i saw it on TV'....

The funny thing about all this is...
Channel 10 probly did cover it up, for the reason they cannot air such things in a prime time slot. So its probly just making it work to suit the guidelines, not an elaborate cover up. Also bare in mind, they film 24/7 and have to fit it into about 20mins for a daily show, so your going to be missing out on heaps anyway. Not to mention what they cant show that doesnt meet the broadcasting guidelines. I think they learnt a bit from the "turkey slapping incedent" as to what they can and cannot air and even with that, the Turkey Slap was not aired on television by Ch10, only on the live streaming which you can only watch for free for two and a half minutes, three times a day, unless you pay for the premium access. Which you need a credit card to do. And was also on the 3 Video network which you also have to pay for. So really its no different to paying for the Adult Channel on FOX and i dont hear too much of a big deal being made about that. And i think that Seven and Nine are worse than TEN as both Seven and Nine have both televised the Turkey Slapping Incdent in a prime time slot on thier current affairs programs, where at Ten have not. Food for thought.

There is alot of people out there that like big brother only problem is they're all under 18. Even though I don't watch it my self most of the people that hate big brother are in their mature ages. So you'll have the people that like it not doing a thing about keeping it simply because they either don't know how or they can't be botherd. and you'll have the tousands of outraged perents going out of their way to get it banned.
I don't see what the big deal is. I don't like it but it's not like the world is coming to an end every time a big brother episode starts. Do what I do... Don't watch it. change the channal, put on a dvd. Big brother made an 8 million dollar profit on sms votes last season. So it comes to this. Cancel big borther - The kids will get over it and the perents will soon find somthing else to complain about the filth there children are watching. Keep big brother on air - It'll get so much complaints that it'll be so boring no one will watch it any way. Oh yeah I missed the show on ch7, got a bit carried away there. |

I dont mind that BB is on the air ( I dont watch it )
its just that you cant escape it. Every second ad on channel 10 is big brother, read through your tv guide and theres like 2 or 3 hours of big brother a night! They just need to cut back a little and stop trying to cram it down our throats

Not watching the rubbish is easy. What I cannot stand is all the competitors on the show believing they are now celebrities and should be treated accordingly. I'm no celebrity hound but just cannot stand the likes of Bessie Bardot or Big Brother contestants thrusting themselves into the limelight at every chance trying desperately to climb the celebrity social ladder.

I agree, I would rather pay out of my own pocket and watch discovery channel or amercian hot rods and even the culture shows also who can forget the reruns of *M*A*S*H*. What is shown on free to air tv (from the little that i watch) is not really worth it. Too many reality shows on tv.People watching other people live there lives?????? FFS WHY?? But shows like BB do make money and draw a crowd (sms voting and the like) and as long as these shows make money they will continue to be shown.
I think I'll take my foxtel and leave, as Australian T.V has become very American and shows like blue heelers ( jsut an example) have suffered because of it (puts flame suit on). Really guys at the end of the day its a personal choice should everybody in the world stop wearing spandex pants because i find it offensive? of course not. Because we live in a democratic society (up to a point) these shows will continue to air and at the end of the day you have two choices...... WATCH IT OR GO AND LIVE YOUR OWN REALITY Sorry about the rant but thats my 2 cents :
