"They could be the automotive cast for a Quentin Tarantino blockbuster; an old-school war veteran, a crazy cowboy, a bunch of utilitarian hipsters and a muscled-up gangster with the ultimate getaway car.
But they're not. Instead, they are Jeep's 'Super Seven', the American off-road brand's latest gang of off-the-wall concept cars created specifically for its annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, a mecca for four-wheel drive enthusiasts, rock climbers and mountain bikers in southern Utah. The wildest of the bunch is the Jeep Trailcat, which is essentially a wicked-up Wrangler powered by the company's 6.4-litre supercharged Hemi Hellcat V8 with no less than 527kW of power. To fit the gargantuan motor into the engine bay, the Wrangler's chassis has been extended by 30cm. The windscreen has also been chopped by 5cm to give it an even sleeker profile. If that wasn't already butch enough, the Trailcat's suspension has been raised and fitted with hard-core Fox Shocks while the diffs feature heavy-duty Dana 60 axles at both ends and the car rides on 17-inch beadlock rims with 39.5-inch BF Goodrich Krawler tyres. Continuing its mutant theme, the interior features carbon fibre sports seats from the Dodge Viper and a custom gear lever with the Hellcat logo embossed in its shifter ball on top. At the other end of the spectrum, Jeep has continued to tease its desire to produce a ute with the Comanche concept. Based on the baby Renegade, the car features an extended wheelbase to accommodate its 1.8m tray and a partial soft top while the suspension has also been raised and it rides on larger off-road tyres. The Jeep Crew Chief 715 is another concept that could preview its upcoming four-door ute with a modern take on its military heritage. Utilising the basics of the Wrangler Unlimited, it features a retro face, soft-top roof and a 1.8-metre tray in the back. It rides on military-style tyres, is painted in "Tactical Green" and even has an on-board compressed air system that can be used to inflate the tyres or provide assistance to others stuck on the side of the road. Inside, the no-frills cabin features leather bucket seats with canvas inserts, aircraft-inspired control switches and all-weather mats. The infotainment system also features a centrally located navigational compass. Similarly, the Shortcut concept is a look back at the original Willys Jeep and the popular CJ-5 with a shortened wheelbase and back-to-basics philosophy that Jeep says "invokes the spirit of 1950s Americana". The FC 150 concept plays a similar role, recalling the model with the same name that was built between 1956 and 1965 and designed as the ultimate workhorse for cattle ranchers and farmers in need of tackling rocky terrain. The latest creation utilises an original 1960 cab-forward body - complete with battle scars - but is built over a more modern Jeep Wrangler chassis. The Jeep Easter Safari is a nine-day festival for off-roading enthusiasts that attracts thousands of fans each year." http://www.drive.com.au/motor-news/j...11-gngcmu.html

that trailcat looks beasty, but on the highway you couldn't hear that sweet engine over the screaming tyres.

Would be good for climbing over cars in peak hour traffic.

With 527 killerwasps under the bonnet, I think it would be ideal for this type of scenario
