I'm planning on running some 6" component speakers in the front of the car, replacing the 5" x 7" units in the doors. I've Google'd around but can't find any pics with location for the tweeters and I'm struggling for inspiration.
The tweeters can be mounted in the woofer "grill", but I don't think that will fit under the door and won't know until i'm in there poking around. Has anyone put components into the front of their LR who could give me some ideas? Cheers Jon |

I know some people have put them in the plastic cowl where the side mirror adjustments knob sits, or in the door just forward of the door handles (on manual window cars)...(woops, just realized. ST170. Forget the last suggestion)
Take a look at these threads from Focus Fanatics for some ideas http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...light=tweeters http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...light=tweeters http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...light=tweeters

Thanks for those, still trying to find my feet with the Focus related forums as there are so many to choose from.
This looks like an interesting option, provided I can get a LHD sail panel from somewhere: http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...6&postcount=20 The tweeters come with an angled mounting option which would allow better targetting of the sound than as depicted in that post. Being that it's a 3 door, I can then move the electric mirror controls to the bottom half of the electric window panel rather than as shown in that post. |
