Talking Drive Day wakefield Park

Jsmilie: This Has Been Copied of the Newcastle Web Site For any one thats Interested
:sm_headba :sm_headba :sm_headba
Hi all, we are hoping to have a drive day at wakefield park on sunday the 3rd of july.

We will need a deposit of $50 per car by the next club meetings.

At the moment we are opening this to the newcastle, sydney & canberra clubs but if we can't get numbers we will look for other people to join us.
We will have the track to ourselves from 9am to 4pm.

There is a limit of 15 people on the track at any time.
There is no speedlimit but there is no overtaking on the corners, only on the straights.

If we get 30 people the cost will be $155 per car + $40 for a licence if you don't have a cams licence + $20 for a helmet with a $50 deposit.
If we get more people the cost will be cheaper.

If you want any more info you can ring me on 0410 651 865

Cheers

Nathan

Or you can Contact me,as we will need Numbers as soon as Possible, as this is more than likley the only way our club can have a Track Day! To Share it With another Club.

Not sure if my Emails are getting through. But here's the situation.

I think my membership is about to expire, and at the moment I don't have a Tickford/FPV Vehicle, I've got a Futura wagon (which hopefully soon will be modified), and as such allow me to regain entry.

Now, I'm interested in this drive day for sure, and can even put some money down, pending a few questions

- Can the car be a VK Commodore? :P (It's 100% Roadworthy)
- Can more than one person run in a car? E.g can we swap during the day
- Are spectators allowed in car?
- The owner of the car is a non-club member, is this OK?

I'd definately be in if I was allowed to attend. I hope I get a favourable response :(

1 - I have no problem with this.
2 - Yes, but each person in the car must have a cams or wakefield park licence & a helmet & suitable clothing (long pants & shirt & enclosed shoes & socks).
3 - Refer to answer 2
4 - Again I have no problem with this.

I have a cams licence but no helmet. I'm keen to get into the passenger side of a car, so as longas I have my cams licence and hire a helmet, I'll be ok?

Hi, as far as i know XR8Chic (Kelli), will be there, look for a Green ED XR8, she won't bite your head off, but don't race her.... it:

As this was not a club event, we have no idea who is going, it was just an offer for members if they were interested.
Have fun, and send us some pics!
Cheers :eclipsee_

The track day has been canned for the moment as the track has been booked for that day. We will hopefully have one early next year.

I've been told weekdays are cheaper and easier to book. Could be something to be considered as the cheaper it gets, the more interest you are likley to attract

Bucky,

From the way i see it, the main problems are this, people not necessarily want to risk damage to their car and something happening.
I would love to go flatstick round the track (and nailing a few 8 brainers whilst at it).
BUT i for one won't:
1. Insurance
2. BA Brakes - enough said. Bigger brakes - yeah
3. If i crash or bump someone - bugger.
4. Knowing myself and the sheer thrashing my car would get, puts me off it.
5. Tyres.....

Sure a few guys fit into one or several of these reasons..

But hey - budget rent a falcon.............

One thing we have had discussion of is a "driver training" day. Insurance cover applies when its driver skill enhancement, not "racing"...
That, puts a big tick of aproval on it.
It also makes it a lot easier to organize, as you use a company, and have their "sway" over track hire, skid pan etc etc..... - Thanx to the HSV guys for this tip!!!!!!
We had an offer at a club meeting to "join in" on some corporate track days, which means we dont need the numbers, the cost is less, and we can meet a few people etc etc.....
This was a offer made to us, but we are yet to act on, guess it still depends on the interest level..
Cheers!
