He added his son was a safe driver. "He’s very patient, very quiet, very good," the man said.
But he left out he can't control a car when he fangs it in the wet . |

Minor injuries? Not bad from a car with a "crappy" star rating?

70K?
Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't that an R spec? The black stripes and black bonnet vents make it appear so. Over $100K then. |

I was always allowed to drive my old mans cars, on my own from when i was 16 years old, VTSS, VYSS manual, VY Calais 5.7L, BA Typhoon, FG F6 etc from as young as 16. learnt to RESPECT the power and be smart about driving. Also never abused the privilege by doing burnouts etc and i must say every trip to the shops was definately the long way..

There's a pole waiting for every car, not just Mustangs. It's the drivers responsibility to keep the two from coming together.
Lesson learned? I really doubt it if the vehicle was just purchased just for the daughters wedding. The guy driving has no respect for his sister and father, let alone the car he's destroyed.

Kid wipes out new Mustang after taking it without consent, old man waters it down claiming the Son is an angel, lol.
That right there sums it up for me, no bloody respect for anything and why would he when the supposed authoritarian figure is an apologist. Seems they deserve each other, just a shame the poor Stang paid the price for stupidity. |

I've had my 2012 FGII XR6T since new, and I've been in a lot of driving conditions over the years, in conditions like that (wet cornering) my car has pretty quickly corrected my enthusiasm and I've had my car tuned. Do the Mustangs have stability control that's been de-tuned or something? Maybe to give it more performance? I saw one try to do a burn-out in a car park once, it's back swung out and nearly hit another car, I thought there was no way I could do that (even if I wanted to, which I don't) unless I turned off DSC.

An experienced and mature driver would allow for this. A 20 year old male? Not a chance!

Yeah, I get the young fella was going too fast, or didn't get off it at the first hint from the car's feedback. I was just surprised by what I saw in the car park. I've got mine out like that, off the public roads, with DSC off and the wheels turned slightly.. but I've seen other cars and drag racing too, wheels all straight, very little tail movement with the rears spinning, on non-Mustangs.
Probably weight distribution, I guess. |

I would love to see the RCM freeze frame data unpicked.
