Default Springnats '06 This Weekend

Hey guys, we have a car seat free if anyone wants to come along to the Shepparton Springnats this weekend. It's myself (Doug), Dansedgli (Dan) and Kenaz (Ash) going. We are taking up Ash's mum's VS Commodore because it's least likely to receive a defect.

We are leaving Friday just after lunch so you'd have to be ready by 1:30-2pm. We are camping at Victoria Lakes Caravan Park in Shepparton. I think it was $25 pp/night last year.

We will probably meet up with some other members up there and Sunny and Tiga_EL will be coming up Saturday.

Edit: Johnny what happened to u this year? U definately not comin?

Are you going up in your car mate?

It says alot about the rest of our cars if we're taking a lowered VS with 18's and exhaust because it is less likely to be defected. :

Me and Braden will be there! Were also staying at a caravan park, but not sure which one..

I was thinking of taking my car up but I dont want to now, as it will most likely get a defect..however one of my mates who is going with us drives a nice stock AU forte... :P

I hope they set up a defect station should make for a good atmosphere. Kenaz, maybe you should ditch the rims, and put the original wheels back on, or some hubcaps. Nobody would look twice then i reckon.

If I still had them I would. Anyway, I'm not worried about it at all. Mum spent over $800 on it today to make sure it's all tip top

Yeah the defect station was good entertainment last time. Pull up the chairs and sit around for an hour or 2 watching the cars go by.

I need some advice. Im thinking of taking my car up there..but ive never been before. Its got illegal tint + red parkers and some other non legal stuff. What are the chances of it getting defected and also whats the locals and that like there? Is it likely to get keyed or whatever for being a ford? were also staying in a caravan park...

I wouldnt worry about it if that is all thats wrong with it.

They will be picking on people's cars that are too loud, too low, rims that a too big, twin turbo instals etc etc.

They wont target a stock car IMO.

Hehehe, I almost got away with it too!!

I heard the cops are going to be a bit more lenient this year anyway. They killed it last year and I reckon the Nats hit an all time low....which was reflected by the number of people in the camping park. I don't reckon it could get any worse this year (touch wood ;))

hey Mick you'll be able to drive it so its quiter by changing gears earlier etc.
also the car isnt that low, there only lows after all! not supers.
we'll take the parkers out tomoro and we could even put in some standard ones.
with the air snorkel i'll put my spare one on for the weekend and we'll wind all the windows down so they cant see them! i wouldnt be worried about the back window.

as Dan said i'd also imagine the cops targeting cars that are dragging on the ground with massive chrome wheels and twin turbos etc! little things like yours i dont think they'd waste there time. i could be wrong but thats just my opinion.

That's one of those things that people hear because they want to hear and believe it, but it'll be far from the truth I reckon.

I'd love to be a cop up there this time of year, sounds like a blast... just stand at the Shepparton sign on the way in with a massive sign for any modified cars "Cooooommmee in SPINNNNNEERR!!"... mmm wish I was TMU.
