Default Ferrari 599XX at Geneva

Photos taken at Geneva during setup for the motorshow.

Look hawt, love the rear diffuser.

Anyone care to take a guess as to what a wheel donut is?

I strangely agree, imagine it in yellow and a convertible and you have yourself a Viper......

Awesome car I reckon a wheel donut keeps the brake dust off the wheels may also deflect heat away.

It's where you store your jam donuts so they stay warm.

Something different from ferrari? I like it.

Its got a big Aston Martin body shape too it, not the wide lambo look...

Agree? / Disagree?

I'd guess that the doughnut somehow helps minimize aerosrag without somehow killing brake cooling. The F1 teams seem to like flusher looking wheel hubs/covers these days.

Really looking for the correct reason to this one.

Yeah, definately feeling the Viper vibe, but looks heaps better. I don't find Vipers overly aesthetically pleasing, they're a cool car, and awesome back in the day.... but I really like the Ferari. The rearend looks mean as hell.

looks like what Veilside would do to a ferrari if they felt like it lol..

i like it, although those lil wing things on the C pillars are goofy, like what was said previously.

I'm only speculating here, but assuming the car has carbon ceramic rotors the donuts might be used to help keep them at the right operating temperature which is higher than metal rotors.

It's a weird looking thing, the aero is vaguely Japanese, but I guess they tend to have a bit more freedom in aero technology in their SuperGT series etc. The treatment behind the front wheels looks very Lexus ISF to me. The diffuser is smilar to what was already seen on the 430 Scuderia with the exhaust mounted away from the air flow. I'm not a fan of the winglets on the C pillars though.

I concur with you. Carbon Ceramic brakes need high temps to work effectively and not squeal. The doughnuts will hold the temp in.

As for the rest of it. Wow. That is pure functional horn.

According to TheMotorReport website, the 6L V12 revs to 9,000rpm and the bodywork features electric powered fans for ground effects. Which is just like the Lotus F1 cars of the early 1970s!

F1-style "doughnuts" partially cover the brake discs and wheel rim, which keeps the brakes cool while improving aerodynamics.
