??? There are heaps of them for sale, or is it a case of not having found the right one?

You must have particular requirements (V8? LPG? Under 100,000 kms?), as they are a common model which is much more likely to have had an older, caring driver.
At worst, if you plan to significantly modify it, you wouldn't be missing out on much by settling on a Fairmont. The Ghia has half-arsed mags, lowering, cam etc that you'd end up re-doing anyway. |

They're certainly nice cars, if all goes to plan, I'll be able to afford one about March
After driving my old man's EF (even though it's a lowly Futura), I'm set on getting an EF-EL (because my current car is almost stuffed). I've frequently scoured Carsales for them, it seems as though there are decent EF2 Ghias for under $8000 (some as low as $6k), and most EL Ghias are closer to $10k. That's dealer prices for 6's with moderate k's (150-180,000). I've seen plenty of cheap ones in Sydney, it's almost worth considering jumping on a Jetstar plane up there and driving home, save a couple of grand. |

For christ sake dont go and buy another commodore! Actually knowing you, you will and you'll keep the ghia as well. How many cars in the driveway (and on the street ) now?? :p
