I am looking at what options I have for playing music from my Ipod in the NU. Apart from the FM modulators what have you people used to do this? I have used the FM modulators before but the sound isn't as good and I was after something similar to that "CD quality" that these premium sound systems give out. I don't want to replace the original system so that is out. Fadi from ASL has the MKI9100 system, has anyone used this and what are your thoughts?

The MKI9100 is designed for phone calls, not for a stereo replacement.
AU tech is a little older, so it's either use a tape deck adapter or replace the unit. I don't see what the big deal in replacing the unit and using a flush mount pocket is, be grateful that the AU has a standard double DIN slot to accommodate unlike B-Series/FG. If you're worried about steering wheel controls, they can be fixed pretty easily to work with most aftermarket headunits these days. |

I tapped into the cd analogue left and right signals coming from the stacker to the deck and installed a small DPDT relay inside the factory deck and ran a latching push button switch which is mounted under the dash. This allows me to switch between CD (relay normally closed contacts) and media player (relay normally open contacts.) It works great. It is all terminated with DIN audio connectors so the deck can still be removed easy enough. Only thing is the audio only works if you have a cd playing, otherwise the deck mutes the audio.
