Wonder what made them decide on the fiesta instead of the focus. You would think they would just take a WRC car and change it around to meet the S2000 spec.
ie. swap the turbo motor for an N/A. Focus would already be setup for 4wd. Where the fiesta needs to be reworked for 4wd. Could also be good news for us some parts may make it out to the public maybe. :P |

well they did make the RS concept which had a 2 litre turbocharged engine (im sure of it) and AWD......i doubt it wouldnt be too hard for ford to produce say 500 of these RS's and hey presto.....everything is set...just need the 2 ltr engine... most probably a Cossie as they are the best lol.....

Sean there was NO 2L turbo or AWD fiesta or concept. The Rallye Concept car had the 1.6L engine but was tuned to 210BHP+ and revs to 9000rpm. It was pretty much the JWRC car. The Fiesta RS was a 2L N/A putting out around 180BHP.
My guess would be they will use the sae AWD system they tried in the Focus but adapt it to the Fiesta. Should be good to see one going around though |

Yeah the blue RS concept that was out the same time as the ST concept wasn't turbo or AWD. I remember looking at shots taken from one of motor shows and you could clearly see under the rear of the car. There was no rear diff.
Also I remember reading one of the Ford execs spoke about how the RS could handle a turbo upgrade as the cooling system was made for it. But the concept version was only N/A. |
