My 2017 MD Diesel is due for the 4 years service which include transmission oil change. During last year service oil leak from transmission was detected and rectified with complete oil change. Ford will insist that I should change transmission oil. Can I refused that and ask for it to be done in 3 years time?

Yes you can tell them to skip it for reasons you've said. It's your vehicle, you're the customer, don't ask them, tell them. They will be working for you. Any resistance from them, you can tell them to cancel the work you'll find somewhere else to do the maintenance in the future.

Thanks Cobrin for your advice. I do have a very good relation with Ford service having 2 cars serviced there for years. They should be OK with my request.
