Hey guys,
This was my latest effort down at the Kwinana Motorplex last Wednesday. We'll be putting it back on the dyno before heading out again & chasing a 10! This run was on 98 pump fuel in full standard trim. Will have a play with VP109 later down the track : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OuhS6Pu8ig Big thanks to Monsta Torque for all the work they've put into the car. They've handled everything on it including tuning & servicing... Dean. |

Seen it there, absolutely flew.
Cant wait to see it down on a colder night, probably 1 run then the boot (for running a 10). Most of the passes were under 11.5 that i saw too.

Well done Dean, Good to see another F6 smoking Holdens.
Also good to see another Nizpro powered car showing them how its done. Well done Rob ect, good job mate. We will have to get you into our next Ford V Holden drag we are planning. Only problem is if Deans willing to put a cage in or not. Once he runs a 10 he will be screwed.

Thanks guys, would love to run at any/all events i can but i don't think i'll be caging it. Removable half cage was on the cards but after some more consideration, i've pretty much decided not to compromise the integrity of the car just so i can run a few more times. Something else will be purchased & caged later in the year

Great Time Dean, Did it cause any damage to the floorpan or was it all ok? I guess thats why they get cranky about the loops, cars running the times are obviously making anough power to smash things. Good investments the loops.

Simon,
No damage to the floorpan but the fuel tank cover copped a bit of a hiding. No damage to the actual tank though fortunately. Exhaust & muffler also dented slightly. Spoolman, I agree 100% with you on that. The shaft would have been stressed to the point of twisting while sitting on the line, then when it launched & axle tramped it gave up & snapped the rear joint in 2! Ball bearings all over the track : Silverxr, Only had a loop just behind the centre bearing (middle of shaft) so not front or rear. That's where Andra wanted it as most breakages that occur on 2 piece shafts are around the centre bearing. After speaking with my tuner, we have decided to stick one at the rear incase this happens again, and possibly one up front as well. Overkill, but better to be safe than sorry imo. Kael, 10's in the coming weeks! Just for you... Motorcycles4eva, Thanks for the comment. Sure is an awesome ride on the street!! |

Thanks guys!
Have you been back out since the 10.85 Lee? That would have to be one of the quickest BA/F ute times wouldn't it?? |

Modified stock rear half with stock centre bearing & rear cv mate... For the WA folk, Phil Purser from Final Drive Engineering is taking care of it.

Ran 11.010 @ 127mph last Friday night. Also ran a 130mph pass & 129mph pass during the night...
Big, big thanks to Rob & Brett from Monsta Torque! Tune was strong as buggery & is easily good for a 10 on a cooler night with fresh tyres. Shows that you don't need to run on a private day to run good times at the Plex |

It would be good to see how much better your car goes now that the Catalyitic converter has been removed and the car retuned to take advantage of the extra exhaust flow. Is Brett full time at Monsta Torque now? I thought he would be just doing a bit of part time work considering how full his days must be holding down his 8-5 job around the corner. Daniel |

The only drag day on today was the Hi Tech Titles & i was there as a matter of fact. I was in the stands taking photo's as i had a few mates racing. Yea Brett's still at WT as you know. Rob's also still working his 9-5 so this result is all the more impressive, huh? Two 'backyard' tuners who do this type of work in their R&R time are about to snag the record for quickest F6 in WA, possibly AUS & it is still unopened plus it utilises the factory turbocharger : I'm glad to see you're so interested in Monsta Torque & it's business. Means they are being noticed for their great work, even by their competitor workshops & said workshops customers! Last edited by Perana XR8; 20-04-2009 at 10:53 AM. |

However I am surprised that you call Monsta Torque "backyard" tuners. These guys must have some idea of what they are doing, and if I was either of them I would not like to be called a backyarder. Just beacuse they are part time does not mean that they dont put a lot of effort into their work. Daniel Last edited by Perana XR8; 20-04-2009 at 10:54 AM. |
