Mate you would need a lot more info than that.

Type of Motor??
Budget??
Transmission??
Use??
How much you can do??

These all come into it.

its around $1200 to $1500 including machining/ pistons/rings/bearings/timing kit and gaskets ,providing yo do all the labour yourself.thats for the bottomend.
just reread your question,an acl bottomend rebuild kit is around $700/$800

Is it true that the ACL gear arent really recommended for boosted applications? Im able to get ACL parts through a friend and its something that could come in handy to me when the AU comes to 'rebuild' time but i recall reading there kits are not very suitable with forced induction... Any ppl with any helpful input/experience on this?

Cheers, chris

i was looking at acl kit au kits only come with cast pistons, also looking at the xr6t kits looks like the forged pistons will fit into the au. i could be wrong though

the valve reliefs in the pistons of the BA items are different to the AU items

i believe a custom set need to be made of which "HotRod" got done for his AU XR6T when he rebuilt the engine in that
so hed be the man to talk to

if you get the ACL race series without the raised compression pistons it will handle FI fine the standard race series are 10.2:1 compression IIRC a bit high for FI

Chris, have a look at http://www.snortperformance.com/, scroll down to "Nuts & Guts", there is some good info on pistons & rods for boosted engines there. Not sure if what Brett says above is the same thing as the 20cc depression in the ACL pistons.
