Default Scratched Brembo's

Hi Guys

I have a dumb question. I have an F6 and I noticed today that my Calipes are scratched. The front and rear. Has anyone noticed there calipers are scratched and would stones cause this?

There's any amount of things that can cause chips/scratches on calipers.....
If you want to touch them up, and I'm assuming your's are red?.....
Get some touch up paint in Milano Red (Honda colour).
It's near enough to a spot on match to the Brembo colour....;)

Usually the mechanics/tyre shops putting the wheels back on give them a nice knock with the wheel.

Anyone noticed the front callipers clear coat peeling off? It's happening on my 2011 GT. Anyone repaired that?

Some guys get so anal about them but really.....it's a brake caliper ff's?....who in there right mind is gonna' get down on their hands and knees and check your calipers for paint chips??
I bought a set of six spot calipers that were a bit knocked around.....
I got some touch up paint and cleaned them up.....they look a million bucks from outside the rims....;)
If you go to the workshop section and search "Brembo paint" there are several threads that cover it...;)

I had one of mine chipped during a scheduled dealership service about 5 years ago and I still wake up in the middle of the night screaming then breaking down into inconsolable sobbing.

To the OP, the internet is awash with companies selling touch up paint for brake callipers, do a search and not only will you find the colour your after but also tips on repairing the damage.

I have been told I am anal but calipers cleaned and polished do look the part anytime.
They can be painted in any color and cleared.

I'm anal about mine I think when they're cleaned up they are one of the small details that make the difference between a good and great looking car. Unfortunately they are easily damaged or the clear coat is susceptible to peeling and I think it's a daggy look on a well presented car.

So is there a brand of clear coat that I can use? I guess it has to be heat resistant? Spray or brush on? Any leads appreciated.

Thanks

I don’t know how this company stacks up against other as they are the only one I’ve used to fix a few chips on the calipers of a car I had for sale and the finish was great, you wouldn’t have picked it.

I've also used them for body paint for touchup jobs and if you can supply them with a colour code they’ll fix you up quick smart.

Done by my painter. Just used normal paint and clear.

A mate of mine had this on his GTS Maloo. He looks after this thing like you wouldn't believe. Noticed it after it had been to HSV for some warranty work on the brakes, and of course they denied everything. He went over the dealers head and complained to H.O. and was treated like royalty after that. They stripped and refinished all the calipers so they would match.

If you use the brakes then any touching up you do will just burn off anyway

If you just putt around the touch up may last

The factory finish on them discolours with hard use. Anything less just burns off with a couple of hard stops

That's why these are the brakes to use if you really use them. Painted calipers just don't cut it when used to the extreme . Brown brembos anyone???? Killed mine after after s dozen laps.

I don't want to rain on your parade guys.....but I've been using a set of 6 spot Brembos (red) on my road/track Typhoon for a couple of years now...
My car's 1800 odd kilos and we run at SMSP and Wakefield that punish brakes.....(mine are usually smoking when I come off track)
I bought em' scratched and touched them up with the touch up paint I mentioned above......after two years they still look exactly the same, no discolouration and no peeling.....
