Default EF2 and EL Ghia Differences

hey all..

Just curious what are the differences between these two cars. I know (think) they both come with partial/full leather, XR engine and 3.45 LSD. But what are the differences in:

INTERIOR
1.

EXTERIOR
1. EL Grill

MECHANICAL
1.

(I know one)

I ask because I want peoples opinions in whether or not an EF2 Ghia is much worse than an EL Ghia. In other words is the EL worth the extra cash if its has the same k's as the EF2.

Thanks :baby bott

ef2 ghia have all the tickford ghia and 3.45 if ur lucky, other exterior differences are the trims on the sides, rear badges, and the number plate bracket not being chrome/grey >.< interior wise, ef2 came with full leather (mine did wen i got mine so i presume they do) and not much else

well the wheels wouldn't stay stock for long.

So do you think the EL is worth the extra $$ over the EF2?

And can someone confirm that the EF2 had the XR drive line standard by any chance?

Thanks guys

EL Fairmont Ghia also has laminated sump, to further reduce NVH.

Only high series ELs got s/s power steering. EF2 Ghias got the XR engine with a slightly quieter (more restrictive) exhaust manifold.

also..

bump strips down the sides, side indicators, the leather used in the EL was a differnt quality *higher quality* the EL did come with the partial leather as an option on the fairmont only.

the EL got a different ash tra but that was an EF- EL thing

EL Ghia > EF Ghia, and what's this nonsence about XR engines, get a V8. If you're gunna go all out on a Ghia might as well get the motor to go with it. :P

Seriously though if you can stretch to an EL go for that they look soo much nicer and were one of the best E-Series cars ever made.. excluding GT's.

I agree.. don't waste your time with the 4L.

And by the way, what makes the EL sooo much nicer?? In terms of design it was actually a step backwards.. All EF's had the clear tail lights where the base/mid ELs got amber tail lights, High series EFs had nice full body coloured mouldings and grille where the EL copped chrome everywhere making it look like a try hard luxury mobile like the Hyundai Grandiur, the scrunched up velour patterns on the EL Fairmonts seats where just wrong, and the cluster in the ELs was grey where the EF had the black cluster with white lettering..

IMO the EL was change for the hell of it..

We're only talking about the Ghia, so I don't see how this is relevant.

Consider it FYI.. many people ask about the differences between EF/EL variants. When you're enquiring about a particular model its always beneficial to know what the rest of the variants had as well. Doesn't really hurt to have more information than you require does it?

It is relevant because the EL Ghia had the clear indicator lights, but all other EL's had the orange ones.

Fairmonts have clear indicators as well, but you're still missing my point. Polyal was asking the difference between the EF2 and EL Ghia. Not the difference between all EF and ELs.

yeah the reason I said EF2 was for the XR engine.
V8's are nice but I still rather my 6 in an e series, just my opinion though.

Now who has one converted to a manual that I can buy?

The only V8 to cop a 3.45LSD was the EL2 XR8.
