Hey!
I'm looking at upgrading my daily EBII Fairmont Ghia with an FG Barra. Nothing wrong with it at the moment but I'd love to get more power and kms out of a tank whilst staying as factory equipment as possible. Essentially i'm looking for a drive in - drive out workshop that knows their Fords, can supply the parts and does quality work! Any specialty shops in Sydney that do or have done this recently? Ballpark on what they charged? Cheers!

Hi. Start with a BA/BF engine as the deep part of the sump and dipstick are in the wrong location to work in anything but an FG. Cheers MD

Wouldn't it be better to put a BA/BF sump onto the FB block?

Hi. Not all FG blocks can be drilled to take a dipstick in the right place, also dont know if anyone has bypassed the security features on the FG ECU which means you might be better off with a BA or BF as a donor for the project. Cheers MD

FG conversions are pretty common now, MK1 FG motors the dipstick can just be swapped over as the hole is in the block. mK2 you need to drill the dipstick hole
