Hello,
Had my 02 AUIII falcon wagon for a week and a half now and it has developed a squeeking sound. It's seems to be located around the front drivers side wheel and is most noticeable between 40 and 70km/h. My first thought was the hubcap/wheel cover as I've had it happen in another car, but some WD40 doesn't seem to have helped at all. The car is still under statutory warranty until Janurary and I'll be getting my mechanic to look over it about this time next week, but in the meantime any chatter about what it could be would be appreciated. Maybe your car has mice??
When did you last clean it?? Seriously tho, does it occur when you turn corners? It may be a bearing issue..

If it is a brake issue I'm hoping it's covered under warranty. My mechanic during the pre purchase examination said the brakes looked fine.
Car, last clean was a week or so ago. The noise is there regardless on whether I'm turning or not. Cheers

What would that normally cost to fix? (if for some reason it's not covered under the 3 month/5000km warranty)

When does the noise occur?
When you slow down - brakes Over speed bumps and potholes - lube up suspension pivots ie bushes and check ball joints Most of the time especially when you go around corners - bearings. This is just generic but should point you in the right direction.

The occasional squeek here and there when slowing down, but only when applying the brakes lightly and under 20km/h.
The main issue as discussed in this thread is most of the time, however it doesn't seem to matter whether or not I'm going around a corner. It seems speed related as it's at the worst (and sometimes only noticeable) between 40 and 70km/h. I'll be getting it to the mechanic for a check up so I can make use of my statutory warranty if needed as it also seems I have an oil leak. Is it generally OK to drive around for a week or so with this happening or is it a 'drop everything and get it seen to now' issue? Thanks for your help
