Default My mate, my buddy, my best friend .... my 'puppy'

I just want to write to something ...... anything just so I can say good-bye and thank you for the 16 years you gave us as a really good mate to me and to everyone you met.

You were kind, only ever showing your loving side ...... you would never be the best guard dog but always showed how happy you were when anyone crossed your path. You were the best pup anyone could have.

You were there every morning with your head out of your house and said good morning in your own excited way.

Last night you said good night to me and I to you and put you to bed not knowing for the one last night ...... you had that look that really showed me that you loved us all and am so glad I did say "Goodnight ol' girl"

This morning you managed to say a quick good bye and a thank you for the time ..... I said to you "Good bye ol' girl" and with that she just said. ..... I am done.

To the best Kelpie in the world ..... Love you Bon ...... catch ya.

I know the feeling all to well, and I'm sorry to read it mate.

My Wife still gets teary about our dog, and we lost her in 2008. Similar breed, same temperament.

You can't replace them, or the memories, but time does make it easy. Chin up.

Andrew.

I have a 16 and 14. Not looking forward to that day. I am sure after 16 years that dog knew you so well. They are in many ways better than people.

Your girls eyes were the same as my kelly and it brings back memories

You need to be proud of yourself that you kept her for so long,as many dogs dont get the oportunity

Thank you all for the very kind words ....... it has been harder than I thought it would be as you know its coming but you feel they will always be there .... under your feet, getting in the way, hiding when they have done wrong and in for a scolding.

Ah well ..... memories are good and thats what we have

sad times, they love ya no matter what, you leave for a couple hours and come back and they missed ya like you were gone for 2 years, and they are like this day in day out for 16 years straight.

Mate what you wrote brought a tear to my eye, seeing the photo of the placid girl looking right at me didn't help I'll tell you.
Although right now everything you see will bring back a memory and a tear, with time they'll bring back a memory with a smile.
I'm sure she is absolutly grateful for all the great times you gave her, the love you shared and times you bonded. And I'm sure she misses you just as much as you miss her, watching over you from up there, with a bone in her mouth and a ball by her side.

I couldn't imagine losing on of my dogs, they always bring me up when I get home from a bad shift, greeting me with jumping excitment when I come back from taking out the rubbish. These are the memories I will carry forever.

RIP Bon
