Default Kiwanis All Ford Day '08

Greetings on a very warm day........

Kiwanis All Ford Day is back in '08.

Held at the same venue of Deakin University in Waurn Ponds, come and be part of the club display.

Contact your events team to put your name down for the club display.
There are very few spots left.

We will be meeting at Shell Westgate at 6:45am. For those who live near Geelong, there will be a roadside meeting point- to be confirmed.

Looking at the list so far, there might be some new prides and joy coming along.............................................

We are heading down but as we are going to be a part of a large cruise the night before, it is most likely that we will be staying somewhere near the city ....... so no need for a 4am departure for us ;)

Wasn't quite what I meant (about VP) but I suppose that it is a new "BLUE" toy and the first non Nissan/Datsun daily driver for you for quite a while and also buying it from one of the club's sponsors.

I would guess that you would be the first member of the club to actually own an XR4 or XR5 since changing the constitution a month ago and a different type of car to display at Kiwanis' next month............. : :

Mmmmmm...........wonder what the new plates could be for it.........? :

that pic was picking it up at New oak this afternoon - if you look really hard through the windows you can see the "old" girl there..... felt very weird leaving it......

And you'll have to - as Gordon says - "wait and see" what the plates are.....

i can tell you GBG was gone....:

Great event today, can't believe how busy the roads were on the way home and the traffic heading the other way.
Here's a couple of pics.

Hi Guys,
Hey, there's pics of my little toy....!!!!!

Thanks to everyone who came along today.

Congratulations to Keith and Joe who took a clean sweep of the Best AU-BF class. Joe was runner up, and Keith was the winner.

There were a few purchases from the auction by club members - we thought XRNIL8 may have had to ditch his current card door for the FPR one he bought! And to see Murray Carter offer the shirt off his back was great - he is 77 and still races and is in fabulous shape.

I'll post pics up tomorrow - it's been a very long day!

It took us over an hour just to get to the engine plant in Geelong - wasn't the traffic through there fun : (mind you there were a few old girls on the side of the road from the heat)
Well over 2 hours back to Moorabbin to drop off the GT-P, then still had to head home! AUVXRIII you certainly beat us !

Okay- here's some more- trying not to double-up on pics.....

Driving down....

Now that is a beautiful car........ poor old Jack behind me must have wondered what I was doing- i was too busy drooling at this to stay on the speed limit!

Rob G was in the elite marquee class....

A sea of blue...........

Murray Carter literally offering the shirt of his back - he's still racing at the tender age of 77.........

Keith and Joe took a clean sweep.... this is Keith's 2nd award at Kiwanis....

One thing i doscovered on Saturday, was the streaks over ALL my windows... a thorough scrub and glass polish still didn't lift them - people yesterday must have been thinking "she could have at least cleaned the windows properly" :
It appears it's etched in to all windows- the alkaline wash they use in pre-delivery has stained EVERY window. Off to Ford today for the 3,000km check and that is now #1 on the list........

Nicely set out display you had, and all your cars looked great.
Can't say the same for our area- a little tight with such lonnnnng doors on our cars.
Just to pre-warn you, you may have another AU XR joining your ranks.
