im just back from a trip to warragul with that new united plus 94, and the DTE is saying 522, and i drove 128km so far on the tank.
So 650km out of a tank for my std au with only tickford snorkle and air scoop. Would a k/n filter make much difference? and how much would pacemaker tri y's and a good twin system help with economy? what km's are other people getting with their au v8's? |

When I went to the FPV day earlier this year, I left Canberra and did a top up at Kalcalow )sp?) - around 665 km, and DTE was showing 60.
The previous year in the wagon, we filled up about 50km out of melbourne (at the BP on the LHS of the highway) and had to fill again in Yass - but that was travelling at speeds slightly higher than normal (around 125ish). So that was only around 570km from the 6 with a DTE of 92 - I think my mates XR8 had a DTE of exactly 100 more, and he had filled up at the same time as us.

I don't go by the DTE, I calculate the millage it uses when I fill up, and the best I have done on the Hwy was 8/100 klm, which is 850klm to a tank, before I did all the mod's the best I could get was 10 flat on the hwy, 3 week's ago I went down to Lorne and I got an Average off 9L/100 and I did play a little on the Great Ocean Rd, not as much as I would have liked to though, bloody caravan's.

The best I got out of mine before I got the exhaust done and chip was from Canberra to Berwick (S.E. Melb) and it averaged 8.8/100km with the family on board plus luggage plus A/C all the way sitting on the speed limit. I have not been on a trip since the mods yet, only recently done.
