The blue looks like a good match for the momo wheel. have you got any closer pics of it, and what paint did you use?

or , is there an alternative chrome surround that can be used in the xr ??

I'de even buy the extra surround around the chrome part too if i had to , to make it fit , and i could allways find a use for the econ button ( use it for something else )

any ideas ?? cheers .

The wiring for the power/econ button is still there, so you could plug it in and see what happens. Pretty sure it would still work - the T3s had this button activating the ESS function, which is what I intend mine to do.

True. And won't fit a series 1. Unless you buy the bottom part as well. To fit an XR you will need to buy a button, just to fill in the gap.

There is not one for an XR. All the chrome ones come with the indent for the button.

Chroming plastic is not cheap. A button at $30 is cheaper than getting it plastic chromed.

lol , you could allways use some of that chrome leaf flake ( comes in gold too ) , allthough it probably need a coat of clear over it just to make sure it lasts forever , it would probably also give a hammertone chrome finish , could be interesting ??

Yeah im sorta sitting here almost seriouslly considering it now , the hammertone finish would stop the shine in the eyes that the chrome can give off in the sun. Would look ok to do the handbrake button , t/bar surround , door handles ( inside ! ) and maybe the airbag strip too ... hmmm.

I would imagine it would probably look a bit like the effect given off on galvanised sheeting , except in chrome / same pattern effect though .

I know you can get this stuff from places like 'Spotlight' , in the craft section .

lol , i just like the idea of something different , but along the lines of chrome ( cos i love chrome ). I could also see the advantages of a hammertone finish not showing fingerprints and stuff as bad as a shiny chrome finish does.

I might have to get some and try it on something plastic / bit of scrap / and see what the effect is like. I want something that looks professional though , no dodgy looking stuff. Im thinking it would look quiet good ...hmmm.

yeah keep me updated on how your experimenting goes, Anyway another question of mine is that the rear parcel shelf in the centre, right under it there is a subwoofer whole ready to be cut and installed, should I go ahead and install the subwoofer in that area (meaning I have to cut a hole in the rear shelf.) or am i better of just getting a seperate one installed inside the boot, along with an amp etc etc

cheers.
