Talking I won Summernats Grand Champion

Under some contraversal circumstances I won the Grand Champion of the summernats,, After being 2 points behind Gary Myers after judging i blitzed the driving events placing 1st in the motorkahna and go-whoa, with gary only place in 5th,, which gave me back the 2 points to make the point score a draw,, coming down to a drive off in the go-whoa to decide the Champ..

Well according to the judges our times where exactly the same,, even after the commentator saying that Gary over shot the line, and I cut a perfect time the previous 2 times placing 1st and him 5th, he happened to all of a sudden be able to catch up with me with a time 100% the same ,, Thus giving for the first time in history 2 Summernats Grand champions..

For any 1 that was there for the driving events will know i drove the car damn hard (and fu(king loved it,, and didnt need to tow it to and from the hall) and even got it in the grass for the expression session!!

We also made Top10,, 2nd custom paint and 2nd top pro-street, and a special award given to me by a guest judge from the U.S named GM-Joe who is a very highly reguarded custom car builder and judge.. To me the honour of him picking my car as the most Outstanding Street Machine is by far much greater than anything handed out in the elite awards,

Btw security for the top cars was very well organised this year, and id have to congratulate Chic Henry on this, All in all it was a good event!!!

Yeah Rock Solid. Was an XA I think. Light blue with graphics. My memory is a bit off. I think Rock Solid was for sale years ago, or it was up as a part of a raffle? Can't remember which it was, but I fairly well remember the car. He also built Chic Henry's Jelly bean car I think. He has a few other memorable efforts. Haven't heard much of Howard of late.

Anyway, congratulations on a brilliant job. Well done

To answer your questions

Yes.
Yes.
2nd or 3rd or 4th based on merit and not "buddyship" as the last nats prooved with the scoring.

Must be nice to know the judges. :

This is the 2nd thread you have questioned someone for having a go at GM, now taking account there are 2 people in Australia that just dont like him, do you really think he will loose sleep over it?

Mind you he may take legal action against those 2 incase a 3rd joins the bag wagon... now wouldnt that be tragic.... 3 people who dont like GM!

Crap, the 3 of us could start a anti GM club, now that would be damm scary.

The Hillier Brothers made a Green XP Coupe as well, although from memory, it didn't have suicide doors, or the paint job, or the motor etc....

Awesome car mate, welcome to FF.com.au!

Excellent work mate, i couldnt believe you could take a car that good and make it better, but you did and quite rightly you've been rewarded. Guys like you are the inspiration for guys like myself trying to build a decent showcar, maybe not as good as yours, but something unique to ourselves.

Is yours coming to Motorvaion this week aswell?
